We help prepare documents for the assistance company
Saint Nicholas Medical Center does not sell insurance policies on this page. The clinic helps patients with medical documents, invoice details and information for the assistance company when a policy case is already open or authorization is needed.
Air Doctor helps patients find a doctor and arrange an appointment through a digital platform. It provides a way to organise a visit: choose an appropriate consultation, receive confirmation and check payment arrangements. Having an appointment in the app does not, by itself, mean that your insurance covers every visit at every clinic.
Booking, insurance and payment are three separate questions
These stages can easily become confused while travelling. You may have selected a doctor in the app and have medical cover in your policy, while the clinic has not yet received confirmation of your particular visit. Before attending, check the address, type of consultation and payment arrangements as well as the date and time.
Conditions depend on your insurer and how the appointment was arranged. This page does not confirm a current agreement between Saint Nicholas, Air Doctor and every insurance company. Check whether a platform appointment is possible in your booking details and with its organiser.
If you have chosen Saint Nicholas
The clinic offers primary care, paediatrics and specialist consultations. When booking, explain the care you need: a primary care assessment, a paediatric consultation or a specialist appointment. Check the schedule for the relevant service before travelling to the clinic.
Share your confirmed appointment details with the clinic through its official contact channels. If additional tests are recommended, agree on them separately: approval for an initial consultation does not necessarily include laboratory tests, ultrasound or a follow-up visit.
What to check in your confirmation
- Place and time
- The medical provider's name, address, date, time and appointment format. If the app lists a different provider, do not move the booking yourself.
- The patient
- Details of the patient named in the booking and policy. For a child, clarify the arrangements for an accompanying adult.
- The scope of care
- An initial consultation, a follow-up or a specific examination. Additional care recommended by the doctor may need further approval.
- Who pays
- Whether payment by the organiser is confirmed, whether the patient contributes or whether payment is followed by a reimbursement request.
If your insurer is not listed in the app
Air Doctor advises checking your insurer when adding a policy. If you cannot find the relevant option, do not assume the costs are automatically approved. Contact your insurer to ask whether your policy permits this type of visit and what supporting documents are required.
Reimbursement after paying yourself and direct payment to the clinic are different procedures. With reimbursement, the insurer decides after reviewing the request; a positive outcome cannot be promised in advance. Keep the correspondence explaining the steps you should follow.
After the visit: keep medical and payment documents
The medical report supports further care, while payment documents are needed for billing and possible reimbursement. They serve different purposes. Check that the patient, date and services are recorded correctly; ask your insurer which documents it needs.
If the doctor recommends laboratory tests or ultrasound, ask the appointment organiser whether separate approval is required. For a follow-up, use a previous case number only after checking that it also applies to the new visit.
Common situations with Air Doctor appointments
The appointment is in the app, but the clinic cannot find it
Check the provider's name and date, then contact the platform's support team. Share the booking number and confirmation. Do not send the same request to several different clinics as though each appointment were confirmed.
The doctor recommends more tests than the booking includes
Medical need and insurance payment are assessed separately. Agree on additional care with the organiser and ask the clinic about availability and payment arrangements.
You need help now, but no appointment is available
For a sudden severe condition, call 112 for emergency assistance. For other urgent concerns, check the arrangements for urgent care at the clinic; waiting for an app appointment is not medical advice.
Check the platform's rules in the Air Doctor patient FAQ. Your insurer confirms your policy conditions. To compare the roles of different organisations, return to the insurance and assistance directory.
